Fructose is found in significant quantities in fruit and vegetable matter. In the modern age we are exposed to excessive quantities of fructose and this often leads to weight gain.

There are also many serious health problems with can be caused by excessive amounts of this refined sugar. A good example is diabetes and heart disease. There has been a lot of research into the link between high sugar intake and diabetes. High sugar intake over time causes insulin resistance which can have adverse effects on your bodies ability to process sugar.

To ensure that you do not consume too much sugar, you should try to eat fruit and vegetables instead of sweets when you crave sugar. Fruit and vegetables contain dietary fibre which makes you feel full. This means you are less likely to eat too much
